About
What this site measures, and the things it will not claim to know.
The idea
HVAC SEO is five separate jobs sold as one. An agency can be genuinely strong at local search and indifferent about attribution, or write well and never get a page crawled. A single blended score hides exactly the thing a contractor needs before choosing anyone.
So this site scores 15 agencies on five disciplines separately, and publishes five orderings that disagree with each other. Where an agency has published nothing we can measure in a discipline, it is unranked there and the page says why.
What we can see
Only what anybody can see. Public pages, public profiles, public link data from third-party indexes, and what is running on an agency’s own website. We have no access to any listed agency’s analytics, client list or results, and we never will.
That is the method’s biggest limitation and it is worth stating in full: an excellent agency that publishes nothing will score badly here. We would rather print that than imply a measurement we cannot make.
What we will not do
- Print a number about a named company that we cannot reproduce from a stated method.
- State that something is absent from a company’s site on the strength of one detection path.
- Fill an unmeasured discipline with an average.
- Sell a position, or removal from one.
- Cite another directory with the same owner as independent evidence for anything.
The glossary
43 technical terms have their own page here, each with a worked example carrying real numbers. Sixty-seven were assessed and the rest are entries on the glossary hub with the reason for the demotion printed beside them. A shorter glossary that holds up is worth more than a long one that does not.
Currency
Everything was measured on 12 Sep 2026 and is re-measured quarterly. Every change is published on corrections with its date and its cause.
